Google online music service. Google could launch a new online music service on Tuesday, which will be similar to the recently launched by Amazon.com, The Wall Street Journal said citing people with information about the situation.
The newspaper said Google would announce the service in its annual developer conference Google I / O in San Francisco. He added that the service will operate initially in test mode and not available to the general public.
In April, Amazon introduced a service that allows customers to store about 1,000 songs on their web servers for free, rather than on their own hard drives, and play them using an Internet connection directly from the browser.
Google was not immediately available for comment to Reuters.
The newspaper said Google did not ask for licenses to the four major labels and the new product is expected to include a system that works much like a remote hard disk.
Users could listen to songs that have been loaded on the service in "streaming" but can not download the files, the newspaper said.
